Indian government urges users to urgently update Windows, Android and iOS


A special IT organization under the Indian government has issued a warning about vulnerabilities in Apple software, Windows and Android. These "security holes" can be exploited by hackers to gain remote control over a device.


The official cybersecurity division of CERT-In advises all users to update their iPhones, iPads, Windows laptops, desktops, and Android smartphones to the latest version available. Note that Apple and Google have already released software fixes, and Microsoft representatives said that the vulnerability has not yet been exploited.


In Apple products, the vulnerabilities affect iPhone 6s and older, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation). Apple operating system versions containing fixes: iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1.
