Ireland's healthcare system hit by Ransomware

Ireland's National Health Service Executive (HSE) was forced to temporarily shut down its IT systems in a ransomware cyberattack

According to representatives of the organization, the attack did not affect its ability to provide emergency medical care, but employees were unable to access online systems and electronic records of patients.

According to HSE CEO Paul Reid, the organization's IT specialists are currently investigating the incident to determine its extent.

Although the incident has been officially identified as a ransomware attack, no ransom note has been found at this time.

As the representatives of the organization assured, the COVID-19 vaccination program was not affected and continues to work, since it is based on a different system.
