Duo Will Be Sentenced to 33 Years in Prison for Identity Theft And Benefits fraud(unemployment Claim) in The US


An american duo have been sentenced to 33 years in prison for computer trespass, identity theft and benefit fraud. It concerns a 31-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man. The duo, along with several others, had gained access to the databases of multiple companies , including a housing company.


The duo obtained the data of nine thousand people via the database of the housing company. The information was then used to claim unemployment benefits for 300 people. This earned the duo two million dollars. The money was spent on luxury cars and apartments and drugs. The man and woman have pleaded guilty and will go behind bars for eighteen and fifteen years respectively, reports the Santa Barbara Indepent
